07 Dec A Summer Favourite Recipe
With summer finally here, I would like to make sure that you all know how to make an acai bowl or smoothie, so that you can at least try one this summer!
It is definitely one of my favourite foods and although it somewhat looks and tastes like gelato, I promise it’s not!
In fact acai berries are an antioxidant rich food which contain Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Potassium, Magnesium, Phosphorus and a little bit of Zinc and Iron too! The acai pulp packs that I buy, which are shown down below, are also sugar free, caffeine free, gluten free and dairy free.
So next time you are unsure what to have for breakfast, as a snack or dessert, do yourself a favor and make yourself an acai creation.
I have an acai bowl once a week, and it definitely brings a little bit of joy, colour and nutrition into my diet!
I would only ever buy or would only ever advise to buy unsweetened acai. This on it’s own will taste bitter and unpalatable, but once it is added into any of my acai recipes it will taste incredibly delicious.
Where can I buy it from?
How much is it?
You can buy single sachets for $2.50 each or a pack of 5 for $9.95.
How do I make an acai bowl?
Below I will show you how to make the base of an acai bowl, however for other variations and acai bowl topping creations, have a look in the recipe section of this blog.
(For the base)
1 x pure acai pulp pack
½ x banana
1 cup of almond milk or coconut water
(Optional: handful of blueberries/ strawberries/ mango/ spinach)
Add all of these ingredients into a blender or nutribullet and blend!
Yes it is as easy as that!
Happy Summer 🙂
